With half tone printing, images are created by printing dots of various sizes. Up close, they're dots, but when you step back, they produce the illusion of different shades of color.
If you're looking for an arty look for your next T-shirt or other print design, consider using a halftone print. With half tone printing, images are created by printing dots of various sizes. Up close, they're dots, but when you step back, they produce the illusion of different shades of color.
Take a close look at a picture in a newspaper, and you'll see that it's made up of a huge number of dots in different colors. Pull your eye away from the individual dots and together they make up an image. It's the same with screen printing using half tone printing techniques.
When working with professional screen printers in Oklahoma, you can request this type of print for an amazing image. Keep these things in mind, however.
1. It's Different From Grayscale Grayscale printing uses different colors ranging between black and white. With Halftone, however, only one ink color is used.
2. It Looks Better With a Contrasting Fabric Half tone printing looks better when it contrasts with a fabric that's either significantly darker or much lighter than the ink you want to use. For example, if you want the design printing on a dark maroon fabric, then use white for your ink color.
3. It's Less Expensive Than Other Printing Techniques Because it uses only one color of ink, halftone printing is less costly than other printing techniques. The dots form the illusion of creating different shades when only one shade of ink is actually being used.
4. It Requires a High-Resolution Image When creating your design, make sure it's of a high resolution, as a low-resolution image won't work. The image needs to be at least 200 PPI at its full size.
Having printing done of a half-tone image can make a beautiful work of art so long as the image you know is of a good-sized resolution and you pick good contrasts.
